Sarah Mellor

SarahWith over 20 years’ experience in market research/consumer insight, and a full member of the MRS, Sarah specialises in freelance research management and planning.

Prior to establishing Mellor Research, she pursued a successful client-side career in which she held senior research, planning and marketing roles, with Nestlé Rowntree, Car Care Plan (a subsidiary of General Motors), Flymo and Golden Wonder.

Since establishing Mellor Research in 1996, Sarah has successfully applied her skills in a wide range of freelance research management assignments, within both large and small companies.

She brings a wealth of expertise, gained from responding to the challenges of working within different market sectors, company cultures and research budgets. Whilst her primary interests lie in FMCG, she has also applied her skills to areas as diverse as mortgages, toiletries, local government and theme parks.

 

Chris Mellor

ChrisWith a breadth of both academic and commercial experience, Chris applies his analytical skills to generate insight into a wide range of business issues. He also develops and delivers training aimed at improving skills in understanding, reasoning with, analysis and presentation of quantitative data.

Chris is an applied statistician.  His career began as a university lecturer (Applied Statistics and Econometrics) at Aston Management Centre and then Exeter University, where he developed his PhD specialism in forecasting.  During this time, he published a number of papers and undertook extensive consultancy work for the DTI and Pedigree Petfoods.

The interests he developed in applying his skills to the commercial environment, ultimately led him to senior analysis & forecasting roles in FMCG, with Nestlé-Rowntree & then in retail, with The Boots Company.

With a rare blend of academic and commercial acumen, Chris delivers practical solutions and genuine insight, based on robust and considered analysis. 

He is also well aware that some clients are less interested in all the statistical details, and therefore he always ensures that recommendations from analysis projects or his training courses are presented in a way that is intuitive and easily understood.
